About Ledgerly
Free financial calculators built for clarity — no account, no data collected, no nonsense. Just accurate math for real decisions.
Why we built this
Most personal finance tools are either buried behind a paywall, wrapped in a mortgage lead-gen funnel, or so simplified they're not actually useful. We built Ledgerly because we believe accurate financial math should be free and accessible to everyone — not just to people who can afford a financial advisor or who are willing to hand over their email address to get a number.
Every calculator on Ledgerly runs entirely in your browser. We never see your numbers. Nothing is transmitted to a server, stored in a database, or associated with you in any way. The calculation happens locally on your device and disappears when you close the tab.
Our principles
Accuracy over simplicity
We use the same standard formulas banks use — amortization, FICA, credit utilization math. We show you how the calculation works, not just the output.
Honest about limitations
Every tool carries a clear disclaimer. These are mathematical estimates — not financial, tax, or legal advice. We'd rather under-promise than give you false confidence.
No dark patterns
No email gates, no fake urgency, no "free trial" bait. You can use every tool fully, forever, without creating an account or sharing any information.
Privacy by design
Calculator inputs never leave your browser. We collect anonymous usage analytics (pages visited, device type) to improve the site — nothing linked to you personally.
How our calculations work
Each calculator uses industry-standard financial formulas:
- Mortgage calculator — Standard amortization formula: M = P × [r(1+r)ⁿ] ÷ [(1+r)ⁿ−1]. Same math your bank uses.
- Loan payoff calculator — Iterative month-by-month simulation, applying interest then deducting payment each period.
- Paycheck calculator — Gross salary minus flat effective income tax rate minus FICA (6.2% Social Security + 1.45% Medicare = 7.65%).
- Debt snowball calculator — Smallest balance paid first; minimum payments on others; freed payment rolls forward each time a debt is eliminated.
- Credit score planner — Weighted FICO factor model (payment history 35%, utilization 30%, length 15%, mix 10%, new credit 10%).
- Salary estimator — Directional market-rate estimates based on publicly available BLS Occupational Employment data by title, industry, and region. Not a guarantee of earnings.
All formulas and their sources are documented in the explainer section of each tool page. If you believe a calculation is incorrect, please let us know — accuracy is our top priority.

How Ledgerly is funded
Ledgerly is free to use and supported by display advertising through Google AdSense. Ads are served by Google and are clearly labeled. We do not sell user data, run sponsored calculator results, or accept payment to influence how tools work or what they display. Calculator outputs are purely mathematical — no affiliate relationships affect any number shown.
